FAIRshare takes part in EUFRAS, ESEE Conference and the Innoseta Project H2020 Networking Event

FAIRshare has been busy the last few weeks engaging in the various different online meetings, conferences and seminars. At the beginning of June FAIRshare attended and presented posters at the EUFRAS, IALB and SEASN conference, which focused on the topic of ‘Life and agriculture in Transition – accompanying change, supporting innovation and strengthening resilience’. Dr. Eleanore Tran (HAFL) and Dr. Teresa Hooks (Teagasc) presented posters on the FAIRshare DATS Inventory, the collection of Good Practices within the FAIRshare project and highlighted some of the learnings surrounding the challenges faced by advisors and farmers in adopting digital technologies.

FAIRshare also presented to the 25th European Seminar for Education and Extension (ESEE), which was hosted by Teagasc in Ireland. This conference focused on a number of themes including lifelong learning, the evolving role of farm advisors, the delivery of digital advice and the assessment of agricultural education and innovation support models. Dr. Anita Naughton (Teagasc and the FAIRshare project) kicked off proceedings with a paper surrounding the “Good Practices in development and use of Digital Advisory Tools and Services: Theory and Praxis”, while Prof. Tom Kelly and Dr. Teresa Hooks engaged in the H2020 Networking sessions to represent FAIRshare. FAIRshare, along with a number of other H2020 projects, had their own project booth on Hopin to showcase the project and their outcomes and progress to date.

Most recently, Dr. Teresa Hooks, Project Manager, represented FAIRshare (starts at 51:00) at the Innoseta project H2020 Networking event which involved a number of H2020 projects including Agrilink, DEMETER, Smartchain, Next Food, Smart Agri Hubs, EUREKA, INNOSETA, IPM Works and Smart Protect showcasing their projects, discussing issues and giving their recommendations on how to improve agricultural education into the future. This showcase started with a  talk by Inge Van Oost, policy officer at from DG Agri in the EU Commission (starts 11:45) detailing the next CAP. A full recording of this event can be found here.
