In the end of September there was a Cross Visit that took place from 19 to 20 of September 2022, in Pisa (Italy), face-to-face. Main objectives of this CV were:
- To exchange experiences with other UCs, in the involvement of end users using the DATS
- To collect suggestions on how to improve Poderi, to increase its utility for different types of stakeholders
The User Case “Tuscany Living Lab to support a wider adoption of sustainable crop management DATS” is aimed at enhancing the use of digital Decision Support Systems (DSS) for increasing the sustainability of olive growing, speeding up the work of advisors and facilitating their communication with farmers.
For this reason, we are developing and testing an unique web-app for olive growing, that we called “Poderi” which includes DSS for irrigation, fertilization and pest management and functionalities to improve communication among advisors and farmers.
Developing and testing are carried out in a Living Lab involving advisors and their associated farmers.
